Michael Hering is the Owner and Principal Consultant at ActiveCare Business IT Services. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in IT consulting, Michael specializes in designing and implementing robust technology strategies that empower small to mid-market businesses.

Before founding ActiveCare IT, Michael spent two decades as a senior partner at a prominent technology consulting firm, delivering comprehensive IT solutions across various industries. His extensive expertise covers infrastructure management, cybersecurity, strategic technology planning, and digital transformation.

Michael is deeply committed to providing technology solutions tailored specifically to clients’ operational goals and growth objectives. Known for his collaborative and proactive approach, Michael believes technology should enable productivity, streamline processes, and promote sustained business success.

Beyond technology, Michael actively contributes to his local community as a Board Member of the Butte Humane Society and the Orland Area Chamber of Commerce. He also regularly participates in local business networking events.

Sarah Hering

Sarah Hering leads the Client Education Consulting practice at ActiveCare IT, bringing over a decade of experience as a professional STEM educator. With a deep background in curriculum development, instructional design, and classroom technology integration, Sarah specializes in helping organizations empower their teams through thoughtful, effective technology training.

She works closely with ActiveCare IT clients to design user-friendly onboarding programs, deliver cybersecurity awareness training, and create resources that make technical concepts accessible to every member of the team. Her unique ability to blend technical understanding with educational strategy ensures that businesses get the most from their IT investments—through confident, capable users.

Frank James is a Senior Project Consultant at ActiveCare Business IT Services, known for his precision, calm problem-solving, and a relentless focus on client success. With more than two decades of experience in systems administration, network engineering, and help desk leadership, Frank has supported businesses through every stage of IT maturity. Throughout his career, Frank has provided IT leadership and support to a wide range of industries including resorts, dental practices, and educational institutions.

He is highly proficient in Windows Server environments, endpoint management, backup systems, and technical support operations—and is particularly valued for his no-nonsense approach to providing technology solutions and his ability to explain complex systems in ways clients understand and appreciate.

Frank brings a steady hand and deep well of experience to every engagement. He thrives on creating efficient, stable IT environments that reduce downtime and empower users. Whether he's optimizing a client's infrastructure or guiding a team through a support challenge, Frank combines technical excellence with genuine care.

Outside of work, Frank enjoys spending time with his friends and family, traveling, and mentoring the next generation of IT professionals.

Shawn Galloway is a Consultant at ActiveCare Business IT Services, bringing over 20 years of experience delivering innovative, enterprise-grade IT solutions to businesses of all sizes. With a strong background in Microsoft platforms, networking infrastructure, and cybersecurity, Shawn is known for his ability to simplify complex technology challenges and deliver results that align directly with business goals.

Prior to joining ActiveCare IT, Shawn served in senior roles at several leading IT firms, where he helped design and support technology environments for healthcare, education, and finance clients across California. He is especially skilled in cloud solutions, data protection, Microsoft 365, and network performance optimization.

Shawn takes pride in building lasting client relationships rooted in responsiveness, integrity, and technical excellence. His deep expertise, strategic mindset, and approachable communication style make him a trusted partner for businesses looking to grow with confidence.

Marlon Cavassin

Marlon Cavassin is an Associate at ActiveCare Business IT Services, bringing more than 15 years of experience in team leadership, client service, and operational coordination. His background in documentation, budgeting, vendor relations, scheduling, and process improvement helps keep projects organized, stakeholders informed, and work moving forward.

Before joining ActiveCare IT, Marlon served as Office Manager for a growing contracting company, where he strengthened financial tracking, reporting, and administrative systems as the business expanded. He also coordinated bids and estimates and supported the management team on a mixed-use commercial development.

Earlier in his career, Marlon led large teams in the hospitality and recreation industries, developing extensive experience in staff training, workflow coordination, customer service, and practical problem-solving. He is known for clear communication, thoughtful follow-through, and bringing structure and accountability to fast-moving environments.

At ActiveCare IT, Marlon supports client engagements, project coordination, and internal operations with an organized, people-first approach. He studied Integrated Studies and Business Administration at Texas State University and is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
